This is primarily a photography-focused blog, though every once and a while, you’ll see a stray travel topic kick-in.

Who am I?

Photography is my hobby (as is this blog).  I have a full time job, as well as a family that keeps my hands full.  I’ve always enjoyed taking pictures and have owned a multitude of point-and-shoot cameras.  However, I purchased my first DSLR to capture those special moments with my kids, started reading more about technique, and have been addicted ever since.

I consider myself an avid amateur photographer – so keep that in mind, as I don’t pretend to be an expert in any form.  I have been soaking up all I can about photography, enjoying reading different books, blogs, forums, etc…   I thought that I would share my ongoing learning experience, consolidating it into this site.

Where does the name SnapperBlue come from?

The name comes from one of my other hobbies, fishing.  Blue is for bluefish, a species of fish often caught on the east coast, known for their big fight, sharp teeth, and oily taste.  Snapper is slang, referring to smaller sized bluefish (as opposed to big “choppers”).
